Celebrities at SEMA

Every year, the Detailing Success Network and Detail Mafia hold their annual meeting in Las Vegas following the largest international automotive aftermarket trade show in the world, known as SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association). It is an opportunity to network with suppliers and industry leaders BTBM rarely sees; and there are educational events and industry speakers, as well as annual awards, recognitions, and inductions into the Detail Mafia.

This year (2017) Bill was made a Master Detailer during the ceremony - the highest level of detailing expertise available in the car appearance industry.

As a member of the Detail Mafia, Bill the Buff Man is a popular celebrity guest in many of the team's sponsor booths during the SEMA show where they perform demonstrations of products and equipment, and talk to customers about why they use products like SONAX Car Care, Gtechniq coatings, Flex polishers, and Renny Doyle's Double Black product line.

Bill shares paint correction and polishing techniques before more than 125,000 attendees.

Shae attends the show as well. the flash of news cameras are exciting and there are many TV and industry celebrities to hang out with like Mike Phillips of Velocity TV's Competition Ready. Automotive lovers from around the world have pictures taken with the now famous Buff Man and the rest of the AFO team!

“The attention for what we do is surreal,” says the Buff Man. “SEMA is a huge show and we had large crowds mingling around our exhibits watching us work. I think one of the things that made our presentations different was how we let the audience participate. At most tradeshows, they have a detailer behind a Plexiglas window doing the demo. We show people how to use the products and equipment, do a little talk about technique, and then let members of the audience take the buffer in their own hands and experience the process. It's very exciting for them and people stand in line to try it for themselves.”

Shae and the Buff Man had opportunities to have their pictures taken with some of the best know names and faces in the business like AutoGeek's Mike Phillips; Chris West of Solution Finish; and the Chemical Guys!
